Product Overview
This small box is a creation of the Fedoskino artist Olga Smirnova, who is an admirer of tigers. Here she has painted a proud large tiger. The palette is chosen to give the tiger a touch of realism. The brushwork is very intricate and even allows a viewer to see the tiger's fur as if it were really furry.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The kitten painted on mother of pearl. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the left side of the scene and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name and Fedoskino. Approx. 4"x3"x1.25".
