Product Overview
A girl shelters her little brother beneath an apple tree as the magic swan geese sweep through a dramatic blue sky. Kolbasyuk's richly painted main scene recalls the beloved Russian tale of courage and a sister's devotion. The smaller dolls broaden the fairy-tale world with a regal face, a crowned golden fish, a flower, and an apple, all surrounded by flowing golden ornament.
Hand-painted on wood in Russia by Kolbasyuk, this five-piece matryoshka has a largest doll approximately 7 inches (17.5 cm) tall. Jewel-like accents and finely decorated floral backs give the storytelling a sumptuous setting, inviting the set to be admired slowly, one miniature scene at a time.
