Description

Irina Sivtsova from the village of Fedoskino painted this small box. It features an episode from the fairy-tale "Queen of Copper Mountain, Stone Flower and Malachite Chest". Here we can see the Queen of Copper Mountain with a stone flower. In her hand she is holding the malachite chest.
The scene is painted in different shades of green and gold. Gold paint details the costume of the Queen.
The exterior of the box is covered with black paint, while the interior is traditionally red.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while bright red lacquer completes the interior of the piece. The box has a hinge to the left of the composition  and the box rests on a flat bottom. Signed with the name of the artist.

The box is approximately 4.5" x 3.5" x 1.25".
