Product Description

Very fine museum quality art doll by Marina Morozova. Finely detailed scenes from  Russian tale - "The Malachite Treasure Chest" are painted on the front of this ten nest set. Glossy lacquer finish. Approx. 13.5" tall.

This matryoshka features the most famous fairy-story from the book The Malachite Casket, written by famous Russian writer Pavel Bazhov(1879-1950), who based his stories on miners' tales from the Ural Mountains.
This doll is hand painted by the famous artist well known by intricate details that she puts into the dress, kerchief and kokoshnik (Russian traditional head dress). This beautiful matryoshka is richly decorated with ornaments that resemble precious and semi-precious stones – ruby stones, amethysts, jaspers, etc. Also, a great attention was paid to kerchief decorations – here you can see elegant white laces and exquisite flower ornaments.
