Product Overview
Snegurochka, the Snow Maiden of Russian folklore, appears in scenes painted beneath cobalt-blue shawls. On the largest doll, a young Snowmaiden in pale blue stands with her parents (Mother - Spring and Father - Frost) near the water, with white swans and a village beyond them. On the next doll, a kneeling flute player recalls Lel from the Snow Maiden tale. The smaller panels continue the riverbank setting with figures among the trees and a cottage. Turn the dolls around to find bright red flowers and green leaves against the deep blue. Glossy lacquer finish. Approx. 8.25" tall. Signed by the artist.
It's painted with fine detail, and great attention to colors and composition.
