This is a wonderful vintage Native American Yupik Alaskan hand-woven coiled grass basket. The basket is woven from wild rye beach grass (taperrnat). Decorated with brightly dyed seal gut. It is expertly woven, tightly coiled, symmetrical and well balanced. It is 8.75” high by 8.5” in circumference. It is in excellent condition. C.1950's.
