Product Overview
This box was painted by a talented Palekh artist Gelisheva Ludmila and shows the scenes from the Russian folk fairy-tale or "Morozko".
The center of the composition shows Father Frost and a Girl, who is freezing in the forest.
On the right side of the painting we can see a cruel stepmother, who stayed in front of a casket with treasures that Father Frost gave to a girl...
The scene is painted in the traditional Palekh style. The details are enhanced with gold and aluminum paints. Gold paint is used to paint the attractive patterns that frames the box's lid, and wraps around the bottom part of the box's body. The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged to the top of the painting, and the box rests flat. The work is signed with the artist name and Palekh.
