Description

The puffin is carved out of walrus ivory sourced from Saint Lawrence Island, Alaska. Hand carved and signed by Alaskan artist - Eskimo Carver Fred Mayac of Anchorage Alaska

Puffins are found only along the shores of the northern Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.  They nest either underground in burrows they scratch out with their webbed feet, or, where there is little soil, among rocks or on cliff faces. They spend most of their time at sea, diving to catch the fish or plankton they feed on.

Approx 1.25"H and 3"L.
