This traditional Orthodox icon depicts the Holy Trinity, also known as the Old Testament Trinity or The Hospitality of Abraham. The composition is based on the biblical account in Genesis 18, in which three angels appeared to Abraham beneath the Oak of Mamre.
The three angels seated around the table are understood in Orthodox Christian tradition as a symbolic representation of God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit. A chalice and food are placed upon the table, symbolizing divine communion, sacrifice, and the unity of the Holy Trinity. The great tree rising behind the central angel represents the Oak of Mamre and may also be interpreted as a symbol of the Tree of Life.
The icon bears the Church Slavonic inscription “Святая Троица”, meaning “The Holy Trinity.” The figures are rendered with finely detailed garments, delicate facial features, golden halos, and a traditional symmetrical arrangement inspired by centuries-old Eastern Orthodox iconography.

Authenticity & Condition: This antique icon is offered in its original unrestored condition. Age-related wear, craquelure, paint losses, and surface imperfections are consistent with its age and serve as evidence of its authenticity and historical character.
