Product Overview
Pushkin's Ruslan and Lyudmila unfolds in a glowing world of knights, enchanted palaces, and formidable magic. The brave Ruslan faces the giant helmeted Head, while smaller scenes introduce the long-bearded sorcerer Chernomor and the lovely Lyudmila. Golden backgrounds and elaborate floral painting give the tale the splendor of an illuminated storybook.
Created in Russia by the Ryabov Workshop, the hand-painted wooden set contains five nesting dolls; the largest measures approximately 8 inches (20 cm). Fine ornament and richly painted backs make this matryoshka a striking tribute to one of Russian literature's most imaginative romances.
