Product Overview

This richly decorated box has been painted by Konstantin Danshin. It shows a golden eagle. The scene is painted in dark tones of oils as the action takes place at night. Silver paint creates the brilliance of the full moon.
Danshin demonstrates his skill of a miniature artist decorating the box's exterior with gorgeous ornaments. On the box's rear side he has painted a shining complex pattern that consists of thin gold rays coming from the gold scan bead located in the center; the same pattern is repeated on the box's lid. Gold filigree accented can be found decorating the box's lid, and creating a frame for the depicted scene. The box's sides are decorated with brown blurry spots scattered against the black lacquered surface of the box's exterior. The interior is traditionally red.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The lid is hinged, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, and the village of Fedoskino.
Approx: 5"x4"x2".
