Description

Walrus jawbone carving or sculpture is a rarity and regional to the Northwest and the Arctic. It is rarely found anywhere else. The walrus is made out of whalebone, the tusks and the eyes are carved out of fossilized mammoth ivory with rare blue coloration on the tusks. The walrus is mounted on a whale vertebra surrounded by moose antler fish carvings. The whole piece is mounted on a marble base.
