Product Overview
This traditional Palekh box was painted by prominent Palekh artist Kuzmenko Galina. The composition shows a date of a lad and a girl at the well.
White tones of the landscape contrast beautifully with red yellow tones of the characters' clothes.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The composition is framed with a gold bid ornament; whereas the sides of the box are decorated with intricate gold leafy patterns.
The box has a hinge at the top of the composition. The box is signed with the artist name and Palekh school. and the box rests on four legs. Approx. size 8.25"x6.5"x1.75".
