This basket was handwoven by Eunice Hank of Point Hope, Alaska. It is made of whale baleen and walrus ivory. Only Alaskan Natives from the Yupik and Inupiat tribes are allowed by the Federal government to work on the baleen. Renowned basket makers Eunice and Carl Hank worked side-by-side. Their trademark finial was an ivory carving of a double seal.

This basket has very unique square bottom shape. The basket is approximately 5.25"x5.25" and 2.5" high.

This is an extraordinary piece and would be a terrific addition to any collection.
