An antique Russian lacquer clothes brush produced by an unknown maker circa late 19th century. The brush measures approximately 2.22" diameter x 1.25" high. The painting of a young girl going to the well is done with oils over a ground of aluminum powder which creates an illuminated effect. Traditional papier mache lacquered top with a natural boars bristle brush on the back. There are no maker's marks. The brush is in excellent condition with normal crazing of the lacquer surface due to age. This does not affect the integrity of the lacquer or the painting.
