Margarita Pichugina is the exceptional talented artist behind this interesting work. Here Margarita has depicted a pair flirting on a Masquerade. The face of Lady is hidden behind the mask, both major figures are dressed very rich.On the back side there are also few figures. Lady's face is looks very pretty and not covered with glasses or mask. A young boy to the right has a hat of a Jester.
The whole composition is richly decorated with several pieces of mother-of-pearl!
The sides of the box are richly decorated. The box is constructed from paper-mache. The imitation of a blue marble is used to decorate the box base's exterior, while red lacquer completes it's interior. A hinge is fastened to the top of the scene, and the box rests flat. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title (Masquerade), and the village of Fedoskino. Approx. size 9"x6"x3".
