Product Overview
This box is painted with a traditional winter scene of a troika (three-horse sleigh) racing through the snow with some Russian architecture in the background. This is one of the most popular Russian scenes, representing winter fun, youthful attitude, and happy holidays. The box is constructed from paper-mache. Miniature painted on the Mother-of-pearl background. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged at top, and the box rests flat. Signed with the artist's name,title and Fedoskino. Approx. 7.5"x6"x2".
