Dressed in a regal fur coat to protect from the harsh cold, and bearing blessings for the New Year and gifts, this Father Frost reminds us that quite often good things can come in small packages. Made of fine linden wood, this piece is hand carved in Sergiev Posad, where the Center of the Russian Orthodox Church is located, and woodcarving is hundreds of years old... The tradition descends from the Russian Orthodox celebrations of Saint Nicholas, the miracle worker and secret gift-giver, and the purple coat alludes to the old way of depicting this figure. Standing at 8" this Santa is a delightful addition to a warm Christmas setting.
