Custom Russian Knife - Shkurosiem Bystrorez

This is hand-forged from Bystrorez P12M steel (62-64 HRC), a proprietary stainless steel developed in Russia with characteristics similar to the familiar D2 stainless tool steel, but with superior edge-holding qualities. The formula includes tungsten, molybdenum and vanadium, tempered to perfect balance between elasticity to prevent chipping and hardness to retain sharpness.
The 5 inch brushed matte-finish blade is fixed with a Karelian birch burl hardwood handle and cupronickel, with nickel-silver cast guard and bolsters, and it comes with a hand-tooled fitted leather sheath. A perfect camping or hunter knife.
For proper care the blade should be dry before storing in the sheath; and both the blade and the hardwood handle can be preserved and enhanced by lightly wiping with linseed or mineral oil between usage. Avoid mechanical sharpeners as they can overheat the edge and affect the temper.
