Chipmunks | Palekh Lacquer Box

 This cute lacquer miniature  is a creation of the outstanding Palekh artist Yevgenii Krasnov, shows us a couple of chipmunks with lantern go through the dark magical forest. Painting is very much detailed and the gold details are amazing!

The box is constructed from paper-mache. The interior of the work is covered with red lacquer, the exterior is covered in black color. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on four round legs. 6"x5"x1.5". Signed by artist.
