Alaskan Lullaby | Alaska Whalebone / Fur Mask

This beautiful plaque was carved from old whalebone in Alaska.
The plaque is about 6"x4.5". Materials - whalebone and fossil walrus jaw bone.
 It would make a great addition to a collection or a real surprise and very unique gift for someone special from a very remote part of the U.S.
This beautiful mask was carved from old whalebone by Ron Ekemo. Ron Ekemo born in Alaska 1949. Ekemo attended the Alaska Methodist University and the University of Alaska from 1968 to 1972.
In 1972 Ekemo started Ekemo Bone Carvings. In 1976 Ekemo moved to Seattle and opened North Coast Trading Co... In 1980 he moved back to Anchorage and in 1990 moved Ekemo Studios to Eagle River, Alaska were he now resides.
Ekemo sculptures and carvings are owned and have been collected by many internationally notable personalities, museums and galleries.
