Olisova Larisa is the exceptional talented artist behind this interesting work.
On this box Olisova has depicted beautiful Snowmaiden feeding a deer in winter forest. Snowmaiden is dressed very rich and her dress decorated with mother-of-pearl.
The whole composition is richly decorated with several pieces of mother-of-pearl!
The sides of the box are richly decorated in a style which first time was used by the famous family pair Shapkin-Kareva. The gold leaf is glued to the surface and then cut the gold out it the artist is making rich ornamentation!
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The bottom's exterior of the box is painted with black paint, while red lacquer completes its interior. A hinge is fastened to the top of the scene, and the box rests on a wavy platform. The work is signed with the artist's name, and the village of Fedoskino. This is a very large box.  Approx. size 9"x6"3".
