This beautiful lacquer miniature is a creation of the Top Fedopskino Master, Sergey Kozlov.
Composition is complex and shows us outstanding skills of an author. Large piece of mother-of-pearl are shining through the surface and give additional glamourous effect.
Gold, gray and white tones are dominated in this scene.
The owl have a rest in wood on an old tree covered with mushrooms. The scene is framed with a gold band.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged at top, and the box rests on flat bottom. Signed with the artist's name,title and Fedoskino.Approx. 6 1/4"x3 1/4"x1 1/2".
