Olisova Larisa is the exceptional talented artist behind this interesting work.
Here Olisova has depicted two ladies walking with a dog on a bank of a river. If we take a closer look at the architecture, we recognize the embankment of Neva river in St.Petersburg.
The whole composition is richly decorated with three pieces of mother-of-pearl! Two pieces are "hidden" in the lady's dresses, the other one is in the first lady's hat.
The sides of the box are richly decorated in a style which first time was used by the famous family pair Shapkin-Kareva. The gold leaf is glued to the surface and then cut the gold out it the artist is making rich ornamentation!
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The bottom's exterior of the box is painted with black paint, while red lacquer completes its interior. A hinge is fastened to the top of the scene, and the box rests on a wavy platform. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title (a walk), and the village of Fedoskino. Approx. size 8"x6"2".
